Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions about shipping, tracking, and pickup.
Once you register for an account, your unique US shipping address is automatically generated and visible in your dashboard under "My Addresses." This address includes your personal suite number, which is how we identify and route your packages to Jamaica.
- To use it:
- Log in to your account at our website.
- Navigate to "My Addresses" in the dashboard.
- Copy your US shipping address exactly as shown.
- Use this address as your shipping address when shopping online from US retailers.
Your suite number is permanent and tied to your account. Please ensure you enter it exactly as displayed to avoid delays. If you are purchasing from China, a separate China warehouse address is also available in your dashboard for suppliers on Alibaba, AliExpress, and other Chinese marketplaces.
If you have multiple addresses (e.g., for different warehouse locations), select the one closest to your preferred shipping route.
Shipping costs to Jamaica are determined by a combination of factors:
- Weight: Both actual weight and volumetric (dimensional) weight are calculated, and the greater of the two is used. Volumetric weight formula: (Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ 5,000 for air freight or ÷ 6,000 for sea freight.
- Shipping Method: Air freight is faster but more expensive; sea freight is more economical for larger, less time-sensitive shipments.
- Origin: Rates vary depending on whether your package is coming from our USA warehouse or our China warehouse. US-origin shipments are generally cheaper and faster.
- Destination in Jamaica: Delivery to major cities (Kingston, Montego Bay) is included in the base rate. Remote or rural areas may have a small surcharge.
- Package Dimensions: Oversized or irregularly shaped packages may incur additional handling fees.
- Additional Services: Insurance, signature confirmation, special handling, and declared value coverage add to the total.
You can use our online shipping calculator (available in your dashboard) to get an instant estimate. Final costs are confirmed when your package is processed at our warehouse.
Volumetric (dimensional) weight is a pricing technique used by carriers to account for the space a package occupies, not just its actual weight. You are charged for whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight.
- Formula:
- Air freight: (Length × Width × Height in centimeters) ÷ 5,000 = volumetric weight in kg
- Sea freight: (Length × Width × Height in centimeters) ÷ 6,000 = volumetric weight in kg
- Imperial: (Length × Width × Height in inches) ÷ 139 = volumetric weight in lbs (air freight)
Example calculation for air freight:
A package measuring 50 cm × 40 cm × 30 cm:
50 × 40 × 30 = 60,000 ÷ 5,000 = 12 kg volumetric weight
If the actual weight is 8 kg, you will be charged at 12 kg.
- Tips to minimize volumetric charges:
- Use appropriately sized boxes — avoid oversized packaging.
- Remove unnecessary filler and empty space.
- Consider vacuum-sealing soft goods (clothing, linens) to reduce volume.
Our online shipping calculator in your dashboard automatically computes both actual and volumetric weight when you enter your package dimensions.
Customs duties (also called import duties or tariffs) are taxes imposed by the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) on imported goods. These are separate from our shipping fees and are your responsibility as the importer.
- How duties are calculated in Jamaica:
- Based on the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight) of your goods.
- The JCA applies the Common External Tariff (CET) rates under the CARICOM framework.
- General Consumption Tax (GCT) and Special Consumption Tax (SCT) may also apply depending on the item type.
- Environmental levies apply to certain goods such as electronics and tires.
- Our process:
- When your package arrives, we provide the necessary commercial invoice and supporting documentation.
- The Jamaica Customs Agency assesses duties, GCT, and any applicable levies.
- You will be notified of any amounts due before delivery.
- Important tips:
- Always declare accurate values — undervaluing items can lead to penalties, seizures, or delays by Jamaican customs.
- Personal shipments valued under US $50 may qualify for duty-free entry (de minimis threshold).
- Certain items such as books, educational materials, and some medical supplies may be exempt.
- We recommend visiting the Jamaica Customs Agency website (jacustoms.gov.jm) or consulting a customs broker for specific rates.
We do not prepay duties on your behalf unless you have arranged this with our team in advance.
Air freight is our fastest shipping option to Jamaica. Typical transit times are:
- From the USA (Miami/New York): 2–4 business days
- From China (Shenzhen/Shanghai): 5–8 business days
- Please note:
- Transit times are estimates and begin once your package departs our warehouse, not from the date of purchase.
- Weekends, public holidays in the USA, China, or Jamaica, and customs clearance may add 1–3 extra days.
- During peak seasons (November–January and July–August), expect potential delays of 2–4 additional business days.
You can track your air freight shipment in real time using the tracking number provided in your dashboard.
Sea freight is our most economical option for larger shipments to Jamaica but has longer transit times:
- From the USA (Miami/Jacksonville): 5–10 business days
- From China (Shenzhen/Shanghai): 28–42 business days
- Important considerations:
- Sea freight schedules are fixed; shipments sail on specific vessel departure dates.
- Consolidation time (grouping packages into a container) may add 2–5 days before departure.
- Customs clearance at the port of Kingston or Montego Bay typically adds 2–5 business days.
- Weather conditions, port congestion, and seasonal demand can affect schedules.
- You will receive a vessel sailing confirmation and estimated arrival date once your shipment is booked.
Sea freight is ideal for bulky items, furniture, vehicle parts, and non-urgent commercial shipments.
Yes! We provide full end-to-end tracking for all shipments.
- How to track:

- Additional tracking features:
- Email and SMS notifications at key milestones (configurable in your account settings).

We do not impose a strict minimum weight or size for most shipments. However, there are practical considerations:
- Minimum chargeable weight:
- Air freight: The minimum chargeable weight is typically 1 kg (2.2 lbs). Packages under 1 kg will be charged at the 1 kg rate.
- Sea freight: Minimum chargeable weight is typically 1 cubic meter (CBM) or 100 kg, whichever yields the higher charge.
- Package size guidelines:
- Small packages and envelopes are accepted without issue.
- Extremely small items (under 10 cm in any dimension) should be properly packaged to prevent loss during handling.
- Oversized items (exceeding 120 cm / 47 in on the longest side) may incur additional handling fees.
Weight discrepancies:
All packages are weighed on calibrated scales at our warehouse. If the weight differs from what you declared, your invoice will reflect the actual measured weight.
We understand that lost or damaged packages are frustrating. Here is our claims process:
- Step 1 — Report immediately:
- For visible damage: Note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos of the package and contents.
- Report the issue within 7 calendar days of delivery (or expected delivery date for lost packages).
- Step 2 — Submit your claim:
- Log in to your dashboard and go to "Support" → "File a Claim."
- Provide your tracking number and select the claim type (lost, damaged, or missing contents).
- Upload supporting documents: - Photos of damaged items and packaging - Invoice or proof of value for the items - Delivery receipt (if applicable)
- Submit the claim form.
- Step 3 — Investigation:
- Our claims team will review your submission within 3–5 business days.
- We may request additional information or documentation.
- For lost packages, we will conduct a trace investigation with the carrier.
- Resolution:
- Approved claims are typically resolved within 10–15 business days.
- Compensation is based on your declared value and any insurance coverage purchased.
- Claims without purchased insurance are subject to carrier liability limits (typically up to $100 USD unless otherwise stated).
We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance for valuable items.
We offer shipping insurance to protect your packages against loss, damage, or theft during transit.

- Basic Carrier Liability: Included at no extra cost. Coverage varies by carrier and destination but is typically limited to $50–$100 USD.

Address changes after a package has shipped are possible but depend on the shipment stage:
- Before departure from our warehouse:
- You can update your Jamaica delivery address at any time through your dashboard under "My Shipments" → select the shipment → "Edit Address."
- No additional fee applies at this stage.
- In transit (before Jamaica Customs clearance):
- Contact our support team immediately. We will attempt to reroute your package.
- A rerouting fee may apply (typically $25–$50 USD depending on the carrier).
- Rerouting is not always possible, especially for sea freight once the vessel has departed.
- After customs clearance (with local delivery partner in Jamaica):
- Contact the local delivery partner directly using the contact information provided in your tracking details.
- The delivery partner may charge their own redirection fee.
- Redirection at this stage may delay delivery by 2–5 business days.
- Important:
- Address changes must be within Jamaica.
- Always double-check your delivery address before confirming your shipment.
If no one is available to receive your package at your Jamaica address at the time of delivery:
- First attempt:
- The courier will leave a notification card at your door with details on the next steps.
- In some areas, you may receive an SMS or call from the courier to arrange a suitable time.
- In some cases, the package may be left in a safe location if you have authorized "leave at door" delivery in your account settings (note: liability transfers upon delivery in this case).
- Second attempt:
- Most local couriers will automatically attempt a second delivery on the next business day.
- Some couriers may contact you to schedule a convenient delivery time.
- After failed attempts:
- After two failed delivery attempts, the package is typically held at the local courier depot for pickup.
- You will have 5–7 calendar days to collect the package before it is returned.
- Storage fees and return shipping costs will be charged to your account if the package is returned due to non-collection.
- To avoid missed deliveries:
- Provide a reliable Jamaica address where someone is available during business hours.
- Include a local Jamaican phone number (876 area code) for courier contact.
- Use your workplace address if you are not home during the day.
- Opt for delivery to a local pickup point if available in your area.
- Enable delivery notifications to receive real-time updates on your delivery window.
Any storage fees or return charges incurred due to failed delivery attempts are your responsibility.
